Readership Highlights - Content

Canadians read daily newspapers primarily for news but also for a variety of other areas of interest. Seventy- three percent of readers “usually read” the local news: local news is the most widely read content in every individual market across Canada. Reading interest beyond the news varies by gender and age. Men are interested in sport and finance and women prefer arts/entertainment and health content. Arts/entertainment is popular amongst all ages and younger readers prefer sports and comics compared to older readers who prefer the editorial and health pages.
