The spring wave of telephone interviewing ended on June 12th. After 19 weeks of interviewing, 22 of the 28 markets exceeded projected spring target completes: the remaining markets were within 5% of the spring target completions. This year, for the first time, interviewing took place during the week of Family day. This adjustment was primarily a result of the Winter Olympics.
The average interview length remains stable compared to the same period last year. Excluding screening, interviews ranged from a high of 18 minutes in Montreal Cross Section to a low of 13 minutes in Owen Sound. Telephone response rates in 12 of the 20 readership-product markets are slightly higher than the comparable period for last year and this is reflected in an increase in the overall telephone response rate.
Compared to the spring wave last year, the overall mail acceptance level remains stable at 64%. However, the overall acceptance rates declined marginally compared to last year.
