NADbank Breakfast Event in Toronto on June 10th

 

Again, this year NADbank will be hosting a breakfast event along with the Toronto daily newspapers. The event will be held at The Toronto Board of Trade on Thursday, June 10th.

Our guest speaker this year is Patricia Graham, Editor-in-chief of the Vancouver Sun. Ms. Graham’s presentation, A Gold Medal Opportunity: Covering the Olympic Games, will focus on the Winter Olympics that were held in Vancouver.

 

Patricia Graham Biography

Patricia Graham is the Editor-in-Chief of The Vancouver Sun newspaper. Ms. Graham became a newspaper reporter in 1980, after practicing law in Toronto, Ontario for four years. She has worked as a reporter, copy editor, editorial writer, editorial page editor and senior newsroom manager for publications ranging from The Globe and Mail to the Campbell River Courier Upper Islander. She joined Pacific Press (now Pacific Newspaper Group) in 1986, working first for The Province and moving to The Vancouver Sun in 1991.

Ms. Graham’s responsibilities as Editor-in-Chief include overseeing the operational, budgetary, developmental and strategic needs of the newsroom, leading the team to achieve her vision for the newspaper and its website, and working with other members of the PNG executive group to ensure the effective delivery to customers of multi-platform content.

Ms. Graham is an award-winning column writer and has been a commentator on both television and radio. She was a lecturer at the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of British Columbia and currently serves on its advisory committee. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Women in Communications and the Board of Governors for the National Newspaper Awards. In 2006, she was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network and was a recipient of the Hadassah-Wizo Woman of Achievement Award.

She has two children, a son Devon, 26 and a daughter Iris, 24.
