Fall 2008

It has been an active six months as the group worked on several projects ranging from a review of the current platform to initiatives addressing the future direction of the NADbank Study. The group concentrated its effort on two major projects, the second online test and a review of the telephone questionnaire.

With the review of the second online test for the most part completed, the group turned to addressing issues related to the current platform. Over the past few years as the length of the NADbank telephone interview increases, concern for the burden place on respondents has also increased. In addition, the increasingly important online newspaper channel for our members and the changing online behaviour of consumers necessitate a review of the current telephone questionnaire.

Other projects that the group has completed are the fusion test and the mixed mode test. Results from both tests will be available in November. The Roadmap group will continue to explore additional initiatives over the coming months.

Spring 2008

The committee continues to meet regularly to review major projects such as the second online test and the mixed mode test. Data for the second online test is being tabulated and the committee will review the results and submit a final report on key findings and recommendations.

The mixed mode test is in field and results will be available in June for review. The committee will recommend next steps and determine the direction for future projects related to the mail-back questionnaire. Over the next six months, the committee will discuss and recommend a number of initiatives that will address some of the current challenges faced by NADbank. Issues such as the decline of telephone response rates, understanding and measuring digital editions of newspapers are being discussed.
